Malbec Mandala

This mandala was painted in 2021 after the discovery of how wonderfully adapted these designs are to pillows and duvet covers. The mindset with this one was that rather than doing a painting, the process was all about creating a fabric design. The palette shifted to red oxide, pink and purple, with blues deliberately muted to allow for the forceful earthiness of reds and browns. The original is three foot by three foot – acrylic on stretched canvas.
